Legend has it that at the end of the 8th century, the Phung brothers were sent by the king to defeat the invaders Trieu Ho Lac who invaded our country and quell the rebellion in the country. After defeating the invaders, the 7 of them returned to An Dien village and passed away on September 15. Upon hearing the news, the king was extremely sorry and ordered the people to build a temple to worship them, and conferred on them the title of Thuong Dang Phuc Than. Due to their contributions to the people and the country, the 7 tutelary gods were granted many royal decrees by the Nguyen king through the dynasties: Tu Duc 6 (1853), Dong Khanh 2 (1887); Duy Tan 1 (1907); Khai Dinh 9 (1942). However, the above royal decrees were lost during the resistance war against the French.

The elders in the An Dien Communal House's Celebration Committee said that An Dien Communal House was previously a temple that was built quite early in history. During the Nguyen Dynasty, under King Thanh Thai, in the year of Ky Suu 1889, the temple was upgraded by the people into a spacious and beautiful communal house with a Dinh-shaped architecture consisting of 5 main worship rooms and 3 rear sanctuaries made of four-piece wood. Over time, the communal house was damaged and the rear sanctuaries were degraded. In 2012, 5 more main worship rooms were built outside and the front worship rooms and rear sanctuaries inside were renovated in the traditional style.

At present, An Dien communal house has the architecture of the first and the second Dinh dynasties, including 5 main worship rooms, 3 front worship rooms and 2 rear sanctuary rooms, mainly made of reinforced concrete imitating wood, roofed with pointed tiles, the corners of the roof have dragon-shaped eaves, the ridge is embossed with the "two dragons worshiping the moon" design, the rafters are in the style of a lotus-shaped stack, the upper part is shaped like a tiger transforming into a dragon. In particular, the front worship room still preserves 2 sets of original ironwood rafters, beams and columns from the Nguyen Dynasty (19th century). The carvings on these ancient rafters and beams are the themes of "four sacred animals", "four seasons" and leaves transforming into dragons, stylized in embossed and carved with very sophisticated patterns.

According to ancient customs, the An Dien communal house festival takes place every year for 3 days from the 17th to the 20th of the first lunar month, the main festival is on the 18th to celebrate the birthdays of the village's tutelary gods. On the 17th of the first lunar month, the villagers hold a ceremony to announce the opening of the communal house; on the morning of the 18th, local officials and people hold an incense offering ceremony to commemorate and show gratitude to the merits of the tutelary gods. Offerings include sticky rice, pig's head, wine, fresh flowers, fruits, candies, etc. Participating in the ceremony are 40 people including a male and female worship team, a music team, and a team of soldiers. The worship team performs 4 weeks of worship (1 week of incense, 3 weeks of wine, reading wishes, and burning wishes). After the ceremony, the festival committee and the villagers enjoy the blessings at the communal house. In addition to the procession and ceremony, the festival also features folk games such as human chess, cockfighting, and in recent years, volleyball and badminton; and artistic performances such as Cheo singing, Quan Ho singing, etc., attracting a large number of people to participate.
