In a statement broadcast on the Houthi-run al-Masirah television channel, Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea said Houthi armed forces had targeted the Israeli ship MSC UNIFIC in the Gulf of Aden. The group also attacked “multiple military targets” in the city of Eilat with drones.

The Houthi spokesman stressed that the group will continue to attack Israeli targets until the war in Gaza ends.

Israel has not yet responded to the Houthi forces' statement.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command said its forces destroyed two drones and an unmanned boat in the Red Sea in the past 24 hours.

Earlier on the same day, the Houthi side said that the US-UK coalition had carried out two airstrikes targeting Hodeidah airport in the port city of the same name.

Since November 2023, Yemen’s Houthi forces have carried out numerous missile and drone attacks on what they believe to be Israeli-linked ships passing through the Red Sea in a show of support for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The group has recently expanded its attacks to include the Israeli city of Eilat.

In response, the US-UK naval coalition stationed in the waters since January has carried out airstrikes and missile attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen. In response, the Houthis have continued to expand their attacks to include commercial vessels and US and British naval vessels.
