Hong Duy made a mistake, Vietnam team lost to Thailand

Coach Kim Sang-sik made six changes to the Vietnamese team against Thailand. The Korean coach wanted to give the home team a different look. However, the Vietnamese team only maintained a good game for the first 15 minutes. After that, the away team dominated the field.

However, the goal unexpectedly came to the Vietnamese team right from the first shot. In the 21st minute, Que Ngoc Hai sent a long pass from the home field to Tien Linh. The striker born in 1997 passed Elias Dolah, he fired a tricky shot to open the score for the Vietnamese team.

Unfortunately, coach Kim Sang-sik's players could not maintain their advantage for long. Just 5 minutes later, Patrik Gustavsson made a great pass, Suphanat Mueanta headed in from close range to level the score for the Thai team. In the following minutes, Thailand played better and maintained a moderate pace of play.

In the 41st minute, the away team unexpectedly scored a goal. Nguyen Phong Hong Duy foolishly missed the ball, the opportunity came to Patrik Gustavsson. This striker took 2 shots but he still defeated Nguyen Filip to raise the score to 2-1. The short remaining time was not enough for the Vietnamese team to score another goal. The two teams left the field with the advantage belonging to Thailand.

In the second half, coach Kim Sang-sik continuously adjusted the personnel, Hoang Duc, Tuan Hai and Vi Hao were sent onto the field one after another. Overall, these players brought a “new breeze” in the way the Vietnamese team played. However, they were unable to achieve efficiency and score goals.
