The Investigation Police Agency of Hai Duong Province Police has just announced that it has decided to prosecute 6 suspects involved in the brawl at Hoi Do market (Hai Duong city) on August 15.
The defendants were prosecuted for illegal possession of military weapons and disturbing public order.
According to the investigation results, due to a previous conflict, Nguyen Duc Ha, born in 1979, residing in Ngo village, Lai Cach town (Cam Giang) and his accomplices went to find Nguyen Van Tuong (born in 1987, from the same village as Ha) who was doing business at Hoi Do market to resolve the matter.
At about 2:00 a.m. on August 15, 2023, Ha, along with Hoang Ba Oanh; Do Van Khan, both born in 1983, both living in Cao An commune; Nguyen Duc Hong, born in 1984, Nguyen Duc Anh, born in 2002, both living in Ngo village, Lai Cach town; Do Van Duong, born in 1986, living in Ha Xa village, Cam Doai commune, Cam Giang district; Bui Quang Truong, born in 2004, living in Cu Loc village, Minh Duc commune (Tu Ky) and another subject went by car and motorbike to Hoi Do market to find Tuong to resolve the conflict.
When Ha's group arrived, Tuong suddenly ran out of the market, holding a pistol in one hand and a switchblade in the other, blocking the car's front, continuously cursing, challenging, and using the butt of the gun to hit the car's side and windows. Seeing this, Hong drove the car and rammed it several times towards Tuong but missed. At the same time, Duc Anh and Truong threw glass bottles at Tuong, forcing Tuong to retreat into a kiosk in the market.
Hong, Ha, Oanh, Khan, and Duong got out of the car and rushed in to control and snatch the gun and knife from Tuong's hands. At the same time, they used their hands, feet, swords, and sticks to beat Tuong and Duc Anh. Truong used concrete bricks and sword sheaths to beat Tuong, injuring him.
The Provincial Police Investigation Agency has prosecuted and temporarily detained Ha, Hong, Duong, Duc Anh, and Truong for disturbing public order.
Prosecuted and temporarily detained Tuong for the crimes of disturbing public order and illegal possession of military weapons.
The case continues to be investigated and clarified.
