The People's Court of Hai Duong City has just tried 7 subjects for illegally possessing military weapons, disturbing public order, and intentionally causing injury in the incident that occurred at Hoi Do market (Hai Duong City).
The defendants sentenced include: Nguyen Duc Ha (born in 1979) 18 months in prison for intentionally causing injury, 30 months in prison for disturbing public order and Nguyen Duc Hong (born in 1984, both residing in Lai Cach town) 15 months in prison for intentionally causing injury, 27 months in prison for disturbing public order; Do Van Duong (born in 1986, residing in Cam Doai commune, both in Cam Giang district) 16 months in prison for intentionally causing injury, 28 months in prison for disturbing public order. Vu Minh Duc (born in 2000) 18 months in prison for intentionally causing injury, 28 months in prison for disturbing public order and Nguyen Duc Anh (born in 2002, both residing in Binh Han ward) 18 months in prison for intentionally causing injury, 28 months in prison for disturbing public order; Bui Quang Truong (born in 2004, residing in Hai Tan ward, both in Hai Duong city) 16 months in prison for intentionally causing injury, 25 months in prison for disturbing public order.
Nguyen Van Tuong (born in 1987, residing in Lai Cach town, Cam Giang district) was sentenced to 12 months in prison for illegally possessing military weapons and 25 months in prison for disturbing public order.
According to the indictment, because Ha and Tuong had a conflict with each other, at about 2:40 a.m. on August 15, 2023, at gate number 2 of Hoi Do market in Thanh Binh ward (Hai Duong city), Ha and a number of people went to the kiosk to beat Tuong.
Tuong used knives and homemade guns to block the car, knock on the glass, curse and challenge Ha's group to fight. Some members of Ha's group drove their cars many times towards Tuong. This group also threw glass bottles, used sticks, swords and bricks to beat Tuong, causing chest injuries, pleural effusion, broken ribs and 10% health loss.
On October 22, 2023, Tuong filed a request to initiate prosecution.
