Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Red River Delta Coordination Council, signed the Decision on the Council's members; in which, the Minister of Planning and Investment is the Standing Vice Chairman of the Council.
On September 18, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Red River Delta Coordination Council, signed Decision No. 61/QD-HDDPDBSH on the membership of the Council, with 30 people.
According to the Decision, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung is the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Council.
The five Vice Chairmen of the Council are: Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh; Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung.
The Council consists of 23 members, who are leaders of ministries and branches: Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Government Office, Ministry of Finance and provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh and Quang Ninh.
The working regime, tasks and powers of the Red River Delta Coordination Council are stipulated in Article 4 of Decision No. 826/QD-TTg dated July 11, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Red River Delta Coordination Council and Articles 4 and 5 of Decision No. 45/QD-HDDPDBSH dated July 11, 2023 promulgating the Operating Regulations of the Red River Delta Coordination Council.
The Council was established to innovate the regional coordination mechanism, promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of the Red River Delta, protect the environment and ensure national defense and security.
The Red River Delta region includes 11 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh.
