Vietnam Red Cross Society provides emergency support to victims of the fire in Cau Giay

On the afternoon of May 24, the Central Working Group of the Vietnam Red Cross Society led by President Bui Thi Hoa visited and provided emergency support to victims injured in a fire on Trung Kinh Street, Hanoi, who are being treated at the Transport Hospital.

Accordingly, the Central Association will support the families of the deceased victims with 5 million VND each and the injured people being treated at the hospital with 2 million VND each. The total amount of support is 82 million VND.

Also this morning, the Hanoi Red Cross Society and Cau Giay District Red Cross Society gave initial support of 17 million VND to families of casualties; at the same time, they issued a document calling on all levels of the Red Cross Society in the city to support fire victims and police officers injured while on duty.

Previously, at 0:46 on May 24, a fire broke out at No. 1, Lane 43/98/31, Trung Kinh Street, Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi. The house that caught fire was a residential house and rented out for living, located in a small alley about 200m from Trung Kinh Street; the house was built on about 150m2 on a total land area of ​​205m2, the remaining area is an empty yard for parking motorbikes, bicycles, and electric bicycles.

There were 7 people in the homeowner's family and 17 people who had registered to rent the house. According to information from Hanoi City Police, as of 6:50 a.m. the same day, authorities had confirmed 14 deaths and 3 injuries. The police are currently identifying the victims and the injured.
