At least six people were killed in a knife attack at a crowded shopping mall on the afternoon of April 13 in Sydney, Australia.
According to CNN, on the afternoon of April 13, a stabbing occurred at a large shopping center in Sydney. One suspect was shot dead at the scene.
Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre in Sydney’s east was put into lockdown following the incident on the afternoon of March 14. Witnesses reported people running across a pedestrian bridge outside the centre. Some were evacuated from the centre’s car park.
There is no word yet on the attacker's identity or motive, and New South Wales police say they are not ruling out any possibilities.
After warning people to stay away from the area, police said the incident was now over.
The New South Wales Ambulance Service confirmed eight victims, including a child, had been taken to hospital. It did not provide any details on their current condition.
