Recently, several schools in the highlands of Cao Bang province have had food poisoning cases due to students drinking cheap soft drinks of unknown origin with foreign words printed on the labels.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province, on the afternoon of September 21, 8 students of Coc Pang Ethnic Boarding School and Coc Pang Secondary School (Coc Pang commune) showed symptoms of headache, stomachache, nausea, diarrhea, and were taken to the commune health station for treatment. Before that, the students went to the school gate to buy soft drinks similar to Coca-Cola bottles with foreign words printed on them to drink, and after drinking for about 30 minutes, the above symptoms appeared. These students were promptly taken to the health center for treatment by their teachers, and their health has stabilized.
On September 23, 24 students continued to buy the above soft drink and experienced symptoms of stomachache, nausea, and diarrhea. They were taken to the Commune Health Station, of which 6 students had severe symptoms and had to be taken to the District Health Center for treatment.
After the incident, the People's Committee of Bao Lac district directed the District Health Center to coordinate with the Health Station to promptly examine and treat students with severe symptoms; take food samples for testing; conduct inspections and recalls of related products; and propagate and mobilize people, parents and students not to use products of unknown origin.
Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Company Limited confirmed that Coca-Cola products are not related to the above incident.
Previously, on September 7, 25 students of Viet Chu Primary School, Thong Nhat Commune, Ha Lang District suffered food poisoning after eating candy and drinking soft drinks of unknown origin purchased at the school gate.
