A total of 32 car brands and corporations have changed their logos in the past decade alone.
The list of car manufacturers changing their logos includes familiar names such as Honda electric cars, Fiat, Jaguar...
Alfa Romeo (2015): The Italian brand's cross and snake emblem has remained largely unchanged for the past 114 years. However, in 2015, they decided to refresh themselves with a significantly simpler new emblem. The gold border and lettering that the company had used since 1982 were removed, replaced by a silver border and a flat accompanying logo.
Dacia (2021): One of the few car companies to completely refresh its logo in history, Dacia did this in 2021. The old logo with their car name was completely abandoned, replaced by a stylized DC lettering connected together.
Fiat (2020): In 2020, Fiat removed the logo border and enlarged the brand name text inside to create a new logo that is more recognizable from a distance.
Genesis (2023): Despite its young age, Genesis still managed to change its logo once in 2023. Like other international car companies, Genesis' new logo has a flat black and white interface.
Honda (2024): In fact, Honda's new logo is for an electric vehicle. However, with the increasing popularity of electric vehicles in the future, this will become the new face of the Japanese brand.
Infiniti (2023): Infiniti's new logo looks like it's been stretched from the old one. The main logo above is no longer closed.
Jaguar (2021): Jaguar's iconic panther was flattened in 2021, as was the company name just below it.
Lamborghini (2024): The latest car company to change its logo in 2024. The new logo's color scheme is more subdued, with the 3D depth lines on both the outer shield and the bull symbol inside being completely removed.
Maserati (2020): Maserati simplified its logo once in 2015, and in 2020 did the opposite... The new font interface in the logo looks significantly more complex, and the trident symbol above is also more detailed.
Opel (2023): Opel's lightning bolt emblem has been reworked quite significantly, with the two halves of the lightning bolt now separated from each other and also separated from the outer circular border
Rolls-Royce (2020): Rolls-Royce has largely abandoned the old logo interface, keeping only the two overlapping Rs in the center of the old logo. Even this detail has been stylized with a new font.
Seat (2017): The Seat logo was “standardized” in 2017 with the two most common logo changes: Simplifying the 3D interface to 2D and changing the color to black and white.
Toyota (2020): The world's largest brand renewed its logo in 2020 with a 2D interface like many other names. The silver logo is no longer there, replaced by a minimalist black and white tone.
Aston Martin (2022): Aston Martin's iconic wings have not changed much since the 1930s. In 2022, the company simplified the logo with fewer and simpler lines around it, but in return, the Aston Martin lettering is more emphasized.
Audi (2022): Audi's four-ring logo used since 2005 has been replaced in 2022, when the silver 3D interface was removed and replaced with four circles that couldn't be simpler.
BMW (2021): Similar to its domestic rival, BMW also simplified its logo, but a year earlier. The outer circle changed from black to white, the blue tone was replaced, and all 3D effects were removed.
Buick (2022): Buick's three-shield crisscrossing-within-a-circle emblem has been greatly simplified for 2022. The three shields are separated and placed side by side, the shield face has been replaced, and the outer circle has been removed altogether.
Cadillac (2021): Cadillac took a big step back with its logo two years ago, ditching all the colors inside and replacing them with gray, black, and white. The 3D interface was also replaced with a simpler 2D one.
FCA (2020): The parent company of a series of big names such as Jeep, Fiat or Peugeot changed its name and logo in 2020. However, their approach was somewhat against the trend when changing from a simple background to a significantly more complex and ornate one.
Citroen (2016): Citroen changed its logo in 2016 - a time when international car manufacturers were preparing to refresh their logos. Their two arrows are now straightened and placed in an oval around the outside, in a style quite similar to the original logo used in 1919.
GM (2021): GM updated its logo with a new background, and the outer square is also significantly more stylized thanks to a new color scheme. The underline is now placed only below the M.
Jaguar Land Rover (2023): Another car company changes its name and logo. The separate Jaguar and Land Rover logos are now merged into a new "JLR" logo, but the three sub-brands Defender, Range Rover and Discovery will still have their own stylized Land Rover emblem.
Kia (2021): When redesigning the logo in 2021, Kia changed the font and removed the oval on the outside of the car. However, many people mistook the word Kia for KN because of this change.
Lancia (2022): The once-famous Italian brand returns in 2022 with a new logo and a series of electric cars that are expected to be launched in the near future. Their old logo has now been changed to a new, more modern look, although the overall frame is still kept.
Lotus (2019): This car company about to enter the Vietnam war now uses a 2D logo without a border, instead of the 3D silver border like in the past. The Lotus word in the center has also changed its font.
Mini (2015): Mini was the first brand to change its logo to a simple "flat" style and remove all 3D elements and silver tones from its symbol.
Nissan (2021): Simpler, cleaner and more elegant is the new Nissan logo, instead of the somewhat cumbersome style of the old version - Photo: Motor1
Peugeot (2021): One of Peugeot's most iconic car logos was reworked at the start of the decade. The standing lion has been replaced by a shield, with a fierce lion's head inside. The Peugeot lettering has been moved from the bottom to the top of the main logo.
Porsche (2023): The Porsche shield emblem has been reworked with a flat interface, a honeycomb grille with red horizontal bars and a streamlined antlers.
Renault (2021): Renault's 3D logo switches to a stylized 2D look made up of two lines in 2021
Volkswagen (2019): Volkswagen, as it pushes into electrification in 2019, has also changed its logo to end the "dark era" associated with its Dieselgate. A significantly simpler 2D interface and the letter W, which for the first time has a lower part that is not connected to the outer circle, are the main highlights of the new logo.
Volvo (2021): Volvo quietly updated its logo in 2021 with a cleaner, simpler, flatter style. They also removed the blocky surround around the Volvo wordmark.TH (according to Tuoi Tre)
