North Korea has launched multiple unidentified ballistic missiles toward the Yellow Sea, according to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
South Korea's Yonhap news agency on the afternoon of March 10, local time, quoted an announcement from the country's military saying that on the same day, North Korea launched multiple unidentified ballistic missiles toward the Yellow Sea.
According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), they detected the launch from North Korea's Hwanghae Province at around 1:50 p.m. on March 10, but did not provide further details.
The JCS said it has stepped up surveillance and maintained combat readiness at the highest level in close cooperation with the United States.
North Korea's launch of multiple ballistic missiles comes as the US and South Korea begin large-scale joint military exercises called "Freedom Shield".
