Hai Duong discovered 5 pharmaceutical and cosmetic samples that did not meet quality standards.

Cosmetic and pharmaceutical samples were collected at pharmacies at district-level medical centers and some pharmaceutical production and trading establishments in the province.

One cosmetic sample that did not meet quality standards was Trapha 30g deodorant powder (a product of Traphaco Joint Stock Company manufactured at Thai Nguyen Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Joint Stock Company) due to containing mercury content higher than the permitted level.

Four pharmaceutical samples did not meet quality standards, including: Xylometazolin 0.05% nasal drops, 10ml bottle (manufactured by Danapha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company) due to unsatisfactory microbiological indicators; Femancia hard capsules (2 samples) of Medisum Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company had low quantitative and solubility indicators; Cosyndo B film-coated tablets (vitamins B1, B6, B12) produced by Armephaco One Member Co., Ltd. had low vitamin B12 quantification.

The Center for Drug - Cosmetic - Food Testing of Hai Duong province has reported to the Department of Health and the Department of Drug Administration (Ministry of Health) to handle the above 5 cosmetic and pharmaceutical samples.

To date, the Drug Administration (Ministry of Health) has issued a decision to recall nationwide two products: Trapha deodorant powder 30g and Xylometazolin 0.05% nasal drops 10ml bottle. For the remaining three samples, the Drug Administration is continuing to collect additional samples from other places as a basis for assessment and handling according to regulations.

During that time, the center also took 71 food samples from traditional markets and found 17 samples that did not meet standards, mainly due to high levels of E.coli bacteria and formaldehyde contamination...
