Hai Duong connects medical examination and treatment facilities in tuberculosis prevention

Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung has requested departments, branches, sectors, and district People's Committees to strengthen tuberculosis prevention, focusing on connecting medical examination and treatment facilities in carrying out this work.

According to the recent direction of Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung, the Department of Health presides over and coordinates with relevant departments, branches and localities to strengthen the capacity of the medical examination and treatment system (including private health care), especially the grassroots health system in detecting, managing, treating and preventing tuberculosis.

Closely monitor and supervise the tuberculosis situation in the province, promptly direct the detection, treatment and tuberculosis prevention measures in the community.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations to coordinate with authorities at all levels to effectively implement measures to prevent tuberculosis.

Hai Duong currently has more than 2 million people, ranking 8th in the country in terms of population size. Each year, the whole province detects 1,000-1,500 new TB patients. Many people with TB in the community have not been detected. The TB prevention system is still limited. TB prevention work in the grassroots health system is uneven, lacks cohesion, and is not very effective.
