According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the Hai Duong Province Hydro-Meteorological Station, due to the impact of a very strong cold spell, from December 17-20, the Hai Duong area is likely to experience widespread and prolonged severe cold with common temperatures of 10-13 degrees Celsius, and beware of frost in mountainous areas.
To proactively respond to severe cold, on December 15, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requested the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of districts, cities, towns, and related sectors to closely monitor weather and disaster forecasts and warnings, and promptly notify and guide authorities and people at all levels to prevent them.
Proactively implement plans to ensure safety for people, especially the elderly, children, and students; absolutely do not use coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid unfortunate incidents.
Strengthen propaganda and guidance for livestock households on hygiene, strengthening barns, covering and keeping warm, proactively stocking food to ensure prevention of hunger and cold; provide guidance on disease prevention for livestock, poultry and aquatic products; cover, shield, water, fertilize and keep moist for rice, vegetables and other crops.
Conduct statistics and assess damage to crops, livestock, and aquatic products due to the effects of severe cold, if any; promptly deploy support measures for producers.
