Within the framework of the Thanh Lieu Temple Traditional Festival (from February 21-23), Thanh Lieu residential area, Tan Hung ward (Hai Duong city) introduced and organized experiences in woodblock printing - a long-standing traditional craft here.
The exhibition booth introduces the life and career of the founder of Vietnamese woodblock printing Luong Nhu Hoc; woodblocks engraved by Thanh Lieu artisans on ancient scriptures from the 15th to the early 20th century, spiritual seals, ancient tools... of artisans in the craft village, and a list of nearly 100 woodblock printing artisans in Thanh Lieu village. Here, people can also experience woodblock printing.
The traditional exhibition space has helped people learn about the long-standing woodblock printing profession in Tan Hung ward, and at the same time understand more about the development of this profession from the past to the present.
Thanh Lieu Temple worships the four great kings Dai Do Dinh Linh, Dai Do Sai Tan, Dai Do Vien Luc and the third-ranked scholar Luong Nhu Hoc, the founder of the Vietnamese woodblock printing profession.
