The program "9th Hour" coordinated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Television has attracted Hai Duong workers to participate in many seasons, creating a mark in the trade union movement.
New playground
Having just returned from the recording of the program “9th Hour” season 3, Mr. Doan Tien Son, Head of the Plastic Injection Department Union of Nissei Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. (Phuc Dien Industrial Park, Cam Giang) was still very excited. Mr. Son said: “It is a new playground for workers. In this playground, we can share our feelings about work and life”.
Participating in the program “9th Hour” season 3, Hai Duong Labor Federation selected workers from 2 enterprises: Nissei Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. and GFT Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tu Ky). This year’s program “9th Hour” has three parts: Brilliant departure; Emotional journey; Finishing with gifts. After each part, the unit with the best performance will be selected to attend the award ceremony.
The teams have prepared many exciting performances to participate in each round of the competition to demonstrate the talents of the workers such as cheerleading, folk dancing, ensemble performance, etc. Each round has its own unique, attractive features that attract the players, in which the "Emotional Bus" section left the most impression. This is the section where workers vividly portray stories about portraits of workers in difficult circumstances. Thereby emphasizing the efforts of Hai Duong workers in their work, completing their tasks well or having initiatives, inspiring all workers and viewers.
Ms. Dang Nhu Quynh, a worker at GFT Vietnam Co., Ltd., said that this was the first time she had participated in such a large and meaningful playground. At the large studio of Vietnam Television, Ms. Quynh, like many other workers, were eager and had fun. “We saw the power of solidarity in competition and companionship, helping and supporting each other in each competition. This is also an exchange, connection, and strengthening solidarity in labor and production,” Ms. Quynh said.
Temporarily leaving the familiar factory space, workers and laborers from Hai Duong have overcome themselves and conquered the challenge of the program "9th Hour".
Reduce work stress
Mr. Dao Xuan Kha, Chairman of the Trade Union of GFT Vietnam Co., Ltd., said that although there was not much preparation time because the workers were still focused on production, everyone was enthusiastic during the practice. "This is a meaningful program because after stressful working hours, workers have the opportunity to participate in a large playground to both entertain and learn basic legal knowledge, improving their spiritual life," said Mr. Kha.
"The 9th Hour" is a television playground for Vietnamese workers and laborers after work. The program brings workers and laborers relaxing and entertaining moments, contributing to raising awareness, professional skills, and working style. From there, it arouses the desire to contribute of union members, youth, and laborers to each agency and enterprise.
Mr. Do Van Sanh, Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union (Provincial Labor Federation) said that this is the second season that the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation has participated in the program "9th Hour", the teams are selected from enterprises with strong trade union and worker movements. Each year, the program has new features, the Organizing Committee clearly announces so that the teams can carefully prepare for the competition. To perform well in the big playground, the workers selected to participate in the program are those who have knowledge of labor law, insurance and knowledge of trade union organization; can flexibly respond to situations that occur during filming and have the ability to inspire workers with their real stories about life and production.
“The grassroots unions have carefully rehearsed many performances and presentations to achieve excellent scores and bring home prizes for their teams. The competitions attracted many workers to cheer, thereby spreading joy, solidarity and trust in the union organization,” said Mr. Sanh.
The program "9th Hour" is divided into three parts. In the first part "Brilliant Departure", 2 teams take turns showing their talents through a cheerleading dance, folk dance, ensemble performance, modern dance... The judges choose the winning performance to award prizes. From the performances of the 2 teams, the judges also choose 2 people to award individual prizes called: Rising Stars. The second part - "Emotional Journey" is stories about portraits of workers and laborers in difficult circumstances but always trying hard at work. Players tell their own stories, with illustrations or the participation of team members, and artifacts associated with the story. After that, the judges comment, share and choose the inspirational story to receive the program's gift. Part 3 - "Reach the finish line and get the prize", the judges press the number to randomly select 3 members from each team to enter the third part. Before each question, a gift box containing the prize value appears to give the team "motivation" to conquer...
