On the morning of December 5, Gia Loc District People's Committee organized a dialogue between district leaders and managers, teachers and staff of primary schools in the area.
At the dialogue, most opinions reflected that the current facilities do not fully meet the requirements of the 2018 general education program, especially in the implementation of subjects and extracurricular activities such as: lack of IT classrooms; science and technology. After storm No. 3, construction works at some schools were severely affected, and currently the recovery work is facing many difficulties due to lack of funding. The purchase of equipment is slow because it is on the list of projects that must be centrally bid...
Responding to this content, Vice Chairman of Gia Loc District People's Committee Pham Van Thung and staff of Gia Loc District Finance Department said that at the 9th and 13th Sessions, the 20th District People's Council decided to invest tens of billions of VND to build and repair classrooms and auxiliary works at many schools such as: Gia Loc Town Kindergarten; Gia Loc Town Primary Schools, Yet Kieu Town Primary Schools; Hoang Dieu, Thong Nhat, Toan Thang, Doan Thuong, Pham Tran Secondary Schools... Currently, the construction of facilities is being directed by the district to best ensure the teaching and learning needs of teachers and students.
However, investment must be carefully selected, with priority given to projects that are truly necessary, and other projects will be implemented in stages. Purchasing must be done according to regulations, so some items are delayed and do not meet the needs of teaching and learning...
At the dialogue, some teachers also commented on the low overtime pay, the need for a policy to attract excellent students to work in the district, and specific instructions on bidding for boarding meals...
Representatives of the Gia Loc District People's Committee and some specialized departments and offices specifically responded to some of the delegates' recommendations. For some contents that are not under the authority, the Gia Loc District People's Committee assigned specialized agencies to synthesize and propose to higher levels for resolution.
