Market Management Team No. 2 (Market Management Department of Hai Duong province) has just coordinated with the authorities of Chi Linh city to supervise the destruction of 30 kg of pho noodles containing formalin.
Previously, on the morning of May 30, Market Management Team No. 2 inspected truck 99C-234.61 owned by Mr. Nguyen Minh Chinh (Tien Trong area, Khac Niem ward, Bac Ninh city), who was delivering pho noodles in Chi Linh city. The results of the inspection and rapid test found that the truck was carrying 30 kg of pho noodles that tested positive for Formaldehyde (also known as formalin). The authorities took samples and sent them to the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene for testing, and temporarily detained the pho noodles.
The test results showed that the sample contained 8.55 mg of Formaldehyde/kg of rice noodles.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Chinh was fined a total of 52.5 million VND and forced to destroy all pho noodles containing formalin.
