The 'zero-dong booth' of Hai Duong trade unions at all levels has become a place to share love and bring joy to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
Mutual love
In 2024, the Union of Sumidenso Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dai An Industrial Park) organized a "zero-dong booth" early in August with the theme "Sharing love - Going to school with children" to prepare for the new school year. The activity attracted over 2,500 people to visit and choose items at the booth. Of which, 10 union members from some northern mountainous provinces wished to request a large number of clothes to share with their hometown. The company's union selected and packaged more than 60 pieces of clothing for each of these union members and supported 200,000 VND/person to transport the items back to their hometown.
Mr. Tong Van Son, a worker at Sumidenso Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: "My hometown is Thom Mon commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province, where people still face many difficulties. With the support of the union and colleagues, we have more clothes and books to send back to our hometown. This is a great encouragement and motivation that helps us feel secure in working and producing."
Before opening the "zero-dong booth", the Union of Sumidenso Vietnam Co., Ltd. promoted and mobilized union members to participate in donating and supporting clothes, books, household items, etc. After one month of implementation, the company received nearly 5,500 products of all kinds. This is also the 4th consecutive year that the company has organized the "zero-dong booth" and has increasingly attracted the attention, contributions, and sharing of employees.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Linh, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said that the "zero-dong booth" demonstrates the spirit of "mutual love and support" among the company's staff and employees. In particular, it focuses on union members and employees in difficult circumstances.
As part of the series of events "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" recently organized by the Provincial Labor Federation, 5 "0 Dong booths" received the attention of many people. Different from previous years, this year's booths have more and more diverse products to meet the essential needs of union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
Holding a gift bag with candy, cooking oil, fish sauce, rice noodles... Ms. Lo Thi Ngoc (born in 1983), a worker at Falcon Vietnam Co., Ltd., was very excited because every year, Hai Duong Trade Union cares about union members, especially workers from the highlands. In addition to participating in the "zero-dong booth", Ms. Ngoc also received bus tickets, discount vouchers and Tet gifts from trade unions at all levels. With these items, she will save a lot of money and have a better Tet.
More motivation
For two consecutive years, Ms. Deo Thi Vui, a worker at Formostar Garment Company Limited (Hai Duong City), has participated in the "zero-dong booth" organized by the Provincial Labor Federation in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year. She was very touched because all levels of the union supported and shared her difficulties in life. This is a great motivation for Ms. Vui to stick with the company and Hai Duong for the past 5 years.
"With the attention of trade unions and businesses at all levels, our lives have improved a lot. What's even more exciting is that when Tet comes, spring comes, we receive words of encouragement and many valuable and meaningful gifts. In 2025, we will continue to strive to fulfill the production targets set by the business," Ms. Vui shared.
According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" in 2025 was organized on the largest scale ever with many practical activities aimed at workers. Among them, the "0 VND booth" received special attention from everyone. Here, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 1,400 shopping vouchers with a total value of nearly 300 million VND to workers in difficult circumstances. In addition, the booth also provided 400 Ao Dai sets, 100 T-shirts, shirts and 300 children's dresses.
"Although the Tet gifts are not of much value, they have helped reduce the difficulties of workers, especially during the Tet holiday. We hope that workers will continue to accompany and trust the trade union and enterprises, creating a more enthusiastic and enthusiastic working atmosphere in the new year," said Nguyen Van Quyet, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation.
According to the assessment of the Provincial Federation of Labor, in recent years, the "zero-dong booth" program has been implemented effectively and creatively by unions at all levels, with widespread effects and positive social effects. The activity has received attention, support and coordination from businesses, units and union members. With the motto "Leave no one behind", the Provincial Federation of Labor recommends that units continue to replicate the model to help workers in difficulty. This is also an opportunity for agencies, units and businesses to join hands to take care of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, helping them to work and produce with peace of mind, and to celebrate a warm, joyful and exciting Tet.
