India has decided to extend winter break for primary schools and below due to cold weather.
According to local authorities, students from kindergarten to grade 5 will continue their winter break for 5 more days, until January 12, due to the cold weather.
Several states in northern India, including Delhi, are experiencing a severe cold wave.
The lowest temperatures measured at many meteorological stations showed a significant decrease compared to the average recorded at the same period in previous years.
On January 7, 22 trains to Delhi were delayed for up to six hours due to adverse weather conditions.
