Nearly 3,000 workers get free train and plane rides home for Tet

Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said that in order to flexibly and extensively implement the activities of the Trade Union organization to care for union members and workers on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the program "Trade Union Tet Journey - Spring 2024" was deployed to support union members and workers to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, return to their units and businesses to work conveniently, quickly and safely.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Trade Union Organization coordinated to organize the "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2024" with 3 free flights to bring more than 670 union members and workers working in the southern provinces and cities back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet in the northern provinces and cities. In addition, union officials will meet and wish union members and workers a happy new year before boarding the free flights to their hometowns at the departure and arrival airports.

Along with the "Union Flight - Spring 2024", the General Confederation of Labor organized the "Union Train - Spring 2024" focusing on bringing about 2,000 union members and workers working in southern provinces and cities back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet in northern provinces and cities and return to their units and businesses to work after Tet.

According to the leader of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, "Union Flight - Spring 2024" will take place from February 6 - 8, 2024 (December 27 - 29, Quy Mao year 2023); "Union Train - Spring 2024": From South to North (before Lunar New Year), from February 4 - 7, 2024 (December 25 - 28, Quy Mao year 2023); From North to South (after Lunar New Year Giap Thin 2024): From February 13 - 17, 2024 (January 4 - 8, Giap Thin year 2024).

Regarding the "Union Flight - Spring 2024", the departure airport is Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City); Arrival airports are Vinh (Nghe An), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bi (Hai Phong).

“Union Train - Spring 2024”: From South to North - At Saigon Station (Ho Chi Minh City), Di An Station (Binh Duong Province), Bien Hoa Station (Dong Nai Province); from North to South: At Vinh Station, Thanh Hoa Station, Ninh Binh Station, Nam Dinh Station, Phu Ly Station (Ha Nam Province), Hanoi Station.

The subjects eligible for free air and train travel are union members and employees working under labor contracts at enterprises that have paid union fees before November 30, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tay Ninh provinces, whose hometowns are in the northern provinces (from Nghe An province and above), who want to return to their hometowns to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 and commit to returning to the enterprise or unit to work after the end of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 holiday.
