Leaked photos of the camera cluster components, believed to be of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, show that the periscope lens with 10x optical zoom will not be present on this model.

Back in September, some sources said that Samsung would replace the 10-megapixel periscope camera with 10x optical zoom on the S23 Ultra with a 50-megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom on the S24 Ultra. Earlier this month, The Elec reported (Korea) reported that the S24 Ultra still has a 10x optical zoom lens with a resolution of 10 megapixels, in addition to the 200 megapixel standard lens, 12 megapixel ultra-wide lens and 5x optical zoom lens with 50 megapixels.
However, over the weekend, chunvn8888, an X account that has repeatedly provided accurate information about unreleased products from Samsung and Google, posted a number of images showing the location of the periscope lens on the S23 Ultra with the rectangular shape replaced by a normal circular lens.

According to some technology sites, this is a wise decision by Samsung because the 50 megapixel sensor helps images have better details. In addition, the S24 Ultra can use sensor crop technology or digital zoom to achieve 10x zoom.
In addition to the camera, the S24 Ultra is expected to be improved with a flatter design, a titanium frame like the iPhone 15. The device uses a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with QHD resolution. The product uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 12 GB RAM and two internal memory versions of 256 and 512 GB. The battery still maintains a capacity of 5,000 mAh.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S24 series on January 17 in the US.
