On the morning of February 12, the National Assembly opened the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th tenure, with important content related to the arrangement and streamlining of the state apparatus.

The session will consider and pass a series of draft laws and resolutions to reform the state apparatus, including: Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and laws related to the organization and operation of the National Assembly; Law on Organization of the Government (amended); Law on Organization of Local Government (amended); along with resolutions on the establishment of a number of new ministries in the Government and regulations on the structure and number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term.
In addition, the Government also proposed to submit to the National Assembly 3 other important draft laws, including the draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended), the draft Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises, along with the Pre-feasibility Study Report on the investment project of the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway line.
According to preliminary statistics, the process of restructuring the apparatus will affect about 300 specialized laws and more than 5,000 sub-law documents.
