The Prime Minister agreed to the resignation of Chairman of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group Le Minh Chuan.

Specifically, the Prime Minister agreed to let Mr. Le Minh Chuan resign from the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group.

The disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 580-QD/TW dated June 30, 2022 of the Central Inspection Commission on party discipline enforcement.

At the 16th session of the Central Inspection Commission (CCI) from June 20 to 22, 2022, after reviewing the inspection results when there were signs of violations against the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and a number of individuals at the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the CCI found that the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Group violated the principle of democratic centralism and the Working Regulations; lacked responsibility, slackened leadership, direction, lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Board of Members, a number of leaders of the Group and subordinate units to violate Party regulations and state laws in production, business, investment in a number of projects, in management and exploitation of coal in Quang Ninh province; many cadres and party members were disciplined, some were criminally prosecuted.

The above violations have caused serious consequences; negatively affecting production and business results, and the reputation of the Party organization and the Group.

From there, the Central Inspection Commission decided to issue a disciplinary warning to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group for the terms 2015 - 2020, 2020 - 2025 and Mr. Le Minh Chuan.
