On January 4, the Provincial People's Committee decided to close the Ang Son limestone mine in Phu Thu ward (Kinh Mon). The area of the mine to be closed is 6.2 hectares.

The mine closure aims to liquidate resources in the area where the reserves have been fully exploited, and hand over the area of the closed mineral mine to the People's Committee of Kinh Mon town for management in accordance with the provisions of law.

Previously, in October 2010, Huu Nghi Construction Joint Stock Company was granted a mineral exploitation license by the Provincial People's Committee, allowing it to exploit limestone for common construction materials at the Ang Son limestone mine with an exploitation area of 6.2 hectares and a reserve of 550,000 m3. The exploitation period was 5 years. After the license expired, the company did not fulfill its obligation to close the mine as prescribed. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment reported to the Provincial People's Committee.

In July 2022, the Provincial People's Committee issued an official dispatch agreeing to transfer the file to the Provincial Police and allowing the joint venture of Tan Cuong - Viet Bac - Binh Minh Company to close the Ang Son limestone mine instead of Huu Nghi Construction Joint Venture Company with the joint venture's own capital.
