These businesses have developed plans, increased human resources and added vehicles to ensure thorough collection of waste generated, and no waste left over during the Tet holiday.

Along with the bustling trading, business, entertainment and recreation activities before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the amount of waste generated also increases. To ensure environmental sanitation, clean villages and green streets during Tet, since the end of 2022, businesses collecting and treating household waste in the province have developed specific plans and solutions to collect and treat household waste.

Hai Duong Urban Environment Joint Stock Company has developed a plan to organize the collection, transportation of household waste and urban environmental sanitation in Hai Duong city before, during and after the Lunar New Year (from December 22) into 5 stages to suit the reality. During this stage, the company mobilizes 100% of its workforce, in which on the 30th of Tet and New Year's Eve, the company will add 1 more time slot for collection and cleaning in the suburban areas. For the inner city area, the working time will be pushed forward about 2 hours compared to normal days. Along with that, the company will add 14 more dump trucks to support collection in the suburban areas and 70 general cleaning workers to clean the fireworks display area...

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do, Director of Hai Duong Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, the amount of domestic waste generated in Hai Duong City during Tet increased by 40-50% compared to normal days, especially on the 30th of Tet, it is expected to increase 3 times. However, the company has prepared plans for collection and treatment, mobilizing maximum resources and means to ensure environmental sanitation. Mobilizing forces and means between collection, transportation and treatment teams will be implemented flexibly to ensure that there is no waste left in the area.

Chi Linh Transport, Environment and Urban Joint Stock Company increases garbage collection time during Tet, especially in the flower market area.

To ensure thorough collection of the amount of waste generated during the 2023 Lunar New Year, since December 2022, APT - Seraphin Hai Duong Environmental Joint Stock Company in Hong Lac Commune (Thanh Ha) has invested in an additional 15-cubic-meter specialized waste transport vehicle. Since December 15, the company's waste transport vehicles have increased the frequency of transportation by 30% compared to normal days. The number of workers serving collection and transportation has also been increased by about 30% compared to before.

“On this occasion, the company's employees will closely coordinate with local garbage collection teams and groups, adjust the collection plan and frequency to suit the actual amount of garbage in the area, ensure thorough garbage collection, and contribute to creating a clean landscape for each street and alley,” said Mr. Bui Quang Bong, Deputy Director of APT - Seraphin Hai Duong Environmental Joint Stock Company.

Along with increasing the frequency of garbage trucks and having workers work overtime during the Tet holiday, Minh Phuc Green Environment Joint Stock Company in Ke Sat town (Binh Giang) has also proactively adjusted human resources between stages, transferring workers from the garbage treatment department to strengthen the collection department, reducing the pressure on garbage collectors in localities and businesses. A representative of this business said that not only does the amount of household waste from people increase, but in the days before Tet, the amount of waste generated by customer businesses also increases by about 40% compared to normal days. The unit must mobilize maximum capacity and human resources to meet the garbage collection requirements at businesses.

Waste collection and treatment businesses have implemented many solutions to ensure that no waste is left behind during Tet.

To ensure environmental sanitation during Tet, Chi Linh Transport, Environment and Urban Joint Stock Company also added 50% more staff and increased garbage collection time. During the days before Tet, the company not only collects garbage at night like normal days but also arranges garbage collection teams during the day in public areas, especially crowded areas such as flower markets, traditional markets and main roads.

With the solutions and plans for waste collection and treatment that businesses have been implementing, they will contribute to making village roads and alleys greener, cleaner and more beautiful during the coming Tet holiday.
