The Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost 0-3 (20-25, 13-25 and 23-25) to Kuanysh of Kazakhstan on the opening day of the VTV Ferroli Cup 2024 International Women's Volleyball Tournament.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team tried hard but still could not avoid a 0-3 defeat against Kuanysh (Kazakhstan) on the opening day of the VTV Ferroli Cup 2024 International Women's Volleyball Tournament, held at the Ninh Binh Provincial Sports Gymnasium.
After three intense sets, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost to Kuanysh club with scores of 20-25, 13-25 and 23-25 respectively.
In this match, with the encouragement of the home crowd, the Vietnamese girls entered the match with great determination, to create a chasing position against the opponent from Kazakhstan.
However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students ran out of steam in the final stages and lost 20-25 in set 1.
In set 2, Kuanysh played better to create a gap against the home team and won 25-13.
After losing two sets, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team tried harder and created difficulties for the opponent. They even made a surprising series of impressive points to shorten the score to 23-24 at the end of the match. However, at the crucial moment, our girls made a mistake and lost with a score of 23-25.
Previously, in the opening match of Group A, Expressway Club (Korea) easily won 3-0 against Paint Masters (Philippines). The team from the land of kimchi defeated their opponent with the scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-15.
Expressway (Korea) entered the field with their strongest lineup and easily took the lead thanks to Nikolova's powerful attacking serves, creating a gap with their opponents and winning 25-17 in this set.
In set 2, Paint Masters (Philippines) played with more determination but the Philippine representative still could not create a surprise and lost with a score of 20-25.
Continuing the winning momentum, the Expressway girls played with even more excitement to continuously score impressive points before closing set 3 with a score of 25-15, thereby winning their first victory at the VTV Cup 2024.
Korea's Expressway Club will be the opponent of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the second match of Group A, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, August 25.
Meanwhile, the Philippines' Paint Masters club is aiming for its first win in the clash against Kuanysh (Kazakhstan) at 4 p.m. on August 25, but this is certainly not an easy task to complete.
In Group B, Russian club Korabelka also showed a convincing performance in their first time participating in the VTV Ferroli Cup when they won 3-0 against Henan (China) in the opening match.
Korabelka was the better team, dominating the Chinese team to win 25-19.
In set 2, Henan played better, continuously chasing the score with Korabelka, but could not create a surprise as the Russian girls played too well to win 25-19.
After losing two sets, Henan fought hard in the deciding set. They created a tense score chase and only lost by a narrow margin of 28-30.
Korabelka's next opponent will be Aranmare (Japan), while Henan will face King Whale Taipei (Taiwan, China). Both matches will take place on August 26.
