Telegrams and letters of congratulations on the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day

The United Nations Secretary-General and leaders of many countries sent congratulatory messages and letters to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023), the Secretary-General of the United Nations, leaders of the Kingdom of Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Italy, Australia, the French Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and leaders of the New Azerbaijan Party sent congratulatory messages and letters to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong. In the message, the UN Secretary-General emphasized that the UN highly appreciates Vietnam's role and contributions to common efforts in addressing global challenges, expressing his belief that Vietnam will continue to cooperate with the UN to build a better, more peaceful and prosperous future.

King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of the Kingdom of Thailand sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong; Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Thai leaders highly appreciated the Strategic Partnership between the two countries over the past 10 years and expressed their joy at the strong development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in all important areas.

Thai leaders affirmed that they will continue to cooperate more closely with Vietnam in all important fields, contributing to the interests and development of each country as well as stability and prosperity in the region.

Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

In the messages, the Sultan of Brunei expressed his appreciation for the valuable relationship with Vietnam based on mutual trust and understanding, and believed that the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries would continue to develop further for the common interests of the countries and people, as well as for the development of a dynamic and sustainable ASEAN Community.

Japanese Emperor Naruhito sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong.

President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong. The President of the Republic of Korea expressed his delight at the strong development of Vietnam-Korea relations in all fields after 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations; he believed that with political trust, the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership would continue to bring prosperity to both countries in the coming time.

Governor-General of Australia David Hurley sent a congratulatory letter to President Vo Van Thuong. In the context of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year and the Governor-General of Australia having just had a successful State visit to Vietnam last April, Governor-General David Hurley believes that the Vietnam-Australia friendship will continue to develop strongly.

King Charles III of the United Kingdom sent a congratulatory letter to President Vo Van Thuong. In the letter, the British King sent his warmest congratulations to the President and the people of Vietnam on the occasion of the National Day.

President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong. The German President sent his best wishes for peace, prosperity and happiness to the President and people of Vietnam.

President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella sent a congratulatory letter to President Vo Van Thuong and the Vietnamese people on the occasion of the National Day. Recalling the recent State visit to Italy by President Vo Van Thuong in the context of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership, the Italian President said this was a testament to the solidity and cohesion of the friendship between the two countries and believed that the two countries would continue to deepen their cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally.

President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron sent a congratulatory letter to President Vo Van Thuong. The French President noted that 2023 marks a period of strong development in the friendly, trusting and close relations between the two countries, with many events celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

King Felipe VI of Spain sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong. On behalf of the Royal Family, the Government and the people of Spain, the King of Spain sent his best wishes to the President and people of Vietnam on the occasion of National Day.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong. Reviewing the relationship between the two countries on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the King of the Netherlands sent his best wishes to the President and the people of Vietnam.

President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro Moros sent a congratulatory letter to President Vo Van Thuong. The Venezuelan President highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements and affirmed Venezuela's desire to continue promoting multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam and to strengthen coordination to promote cooperation between Venezuela and ASEAN.

Governor General of Canada Mary May Simon sent a congratulatory letter to President Vo Van Thuong. President of the Canadian Senate Raymonde Gagne and Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons Anthony Rota jointly sent congratulatory letters to Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.

Canadian leaders assessed that after exactly 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the two countries have deepened cooperation in various fields in recent times, highly appreciating Vietnam's contributions at multilateral forums such as APEC, ASEAN, the United Nations and La Francophonie. Canadian leaders sent a message affirming that they will continue to cooperate closely with Vietnam on bilateral and multilateral levels.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, Head of the Party Central Committee Office Tahir Budaqov sent a congratulatory letter to Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee Truong Thi Mai.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Pramudwinai sent a congratulatory message to Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, through a statement posted on the US State Department website, sent the best wishes of the United States to the Vietnamese people on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of National Day.
