To assess the overall Van Tien cave with underground streams, and at the same time, local people said there were some unexplored caves, the Quang Tri tourism industry proposed inviting the British Royal Cave Association to conduct a survey.
On May 30, Mr. Ho Van Hoan - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri - said that the department had just sent a document to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province proposing to survey Van Tien cave in Tria village, Huong Son commune, Huong Hoa district.
According to this department, recently, many newspapers have reported on this cave with unique and attractive images.
The cave is located in Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve. Van Tien Cave was discovered before 2020 and is managed and protected by the People's Committee of Huong Son Commune in coordination with Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve.
In 2020, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Huong Hoa district and other units to conduct a preliminary survey of this cave. Local people said that in the Cat and Tria villages, there are still some unexplored caves.
Therefore, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed to survey this cave. Specifically, in June 2024, the department will conduct a preliminary survey, determine the route, locate the cave entrances, and determine the scope to propose a detailed survey.
In August 2024, the department proposed to invite a cave exploration team from the British Royal Cave Association led by Mr. Howard Limbert; or a cave exploration team from a tourism company in Quang Binh to survey this cave.
Van Tien Cave in Huong Hoa District has an underground river, with two large lakes with fish and shrimp at both ends. The cave space is large, with some beautiful and magnificent stalactites. The cave has been known to local people for a long time but has not been fully explored and has not been exploited for tourism.
