Donald Trump's campaign said on August 1 that it raised $138.7 million in July, the month the Republican presidential candidate survived an assassination attempt.
Donations to Mr. Trump's campaign in July increased 24% compared to the $111.8 million raised in June. The former President's campaign fund now has $327 million.
Previously, Mr. Trump's campaign said on July 2 that it had raised $331 million in the second quarter, surpassing the $264 million raised by then-Democratic candidate and incumbent President Joe Biden in the same period.
The July 13 assassination attempt on Mr. Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, is believed to have helped boost donations to the Republican candidate's fundraising campaign.
Meanwhile, the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, who is likely to be the Democratic nominee in the upcoming presidential election, has yet to release its total fundraising for July.
Polls over the past week have shown Harris closing the gap with Trump, but the former president still leads in some national surveys. Concerned about Harris’s rapid rise, the Trump campaign announced on July 29 that it would spend $10 million on advertising, its biggest since January.
