According to the Management Board of Dong Dang-Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, today, February 14 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Tan Thanh border gate and Huu Nghi international border gate officially reopened after 4 days of Tet holiday and only carried out customs clearance for pre-registered import and export goods.

From February 18 onwards, normal customs clearance will be restored.

These are the two border gates with the largest volume of import and export cargo traffic in Lang Son province.

At Tan Thanh border gate in the early morning of February 14, the volume of container trucks carrying goods to the border gate area was relatively high. The functional forces at the border gate area had to separate, regulate, and arrange vehicles to stop and park neatly on the specialized road for transporting goods.

The main import and export items are fresh fruits including mango, jackfruit, dragon fruit, and watermelon. On February 14, 110 vehicles carrying fresh fruits completed export declarations through Tan Thanh border gate.

Mr. Trieu Van Hanh, Deputy Head of Tan Thanh Customs Branch, said: To make the import and export of goods of enterprises smooth and convenient at the beginning of the year, the leaders of Tan Thanh Customs Branch have assigned specific tasks to each responsible unit to proactively grasp the situation, actively guide enterprises, and handle declaration procedures according to the process.

Meanwhile, at the area where vehicles are waiting for export at Huu Nghi international border gate, many trucks carrying mainly fresh fruits such as jackfruit and durian are running their engines ready for customs clearance. The officers and staff on duty at the border gate coordinate smoothly, creating the most favorable conditions for the first shipments to trade smoothly.

Mr. Le Van Bau, a driver from Quang Nam province transporting fruit for export through Huu Nghi international border gate in Lang Son province, excitedly said: “I am very honored to be one of the vehicles cleared through customs in the first days of the new year. The authorities at the border gate also visited and gave lucky money to the drivers for more luck in the new year.”

According to Nguyen Cong Thanh, Deputy Head of the Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch, on February 14, 15 vehicles completed opening export declarations through the Branch. Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs has built and arranged chains of civil servants to handle business processes, declaration processing processes and automated customs procedures on the digital platforms of the General Department of Customs.

At the same time, the unit always coordinates well with the border gate authorities, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to clear customs quickly and in accordance with regulations; ensuring the facilitation of border trade while meeting the development requirements of businesses.

The smooth import and export of goods at two important border gates of Lang Son province right from the beginning of the New Year signals optimism and positive signs for the province's border trade activities in the coming time.
