In the 2018-2023 term, the Hai Duong education sector trade unions at all levels organized visits and presented gifts worth nearly 2 billion VND to 2,120 union members. The sector trade union alone presented 360 gifts to cadres, teachers and employees in difficult circumstances; proposed to build 2 "union shelters" for union members in difficult circumstances in the province. The provincial Labor Federation supported each union member with 30 million VND to build a house; many groups and individuals donated nearly 100 million VND.

In order to ensure that no one is left behind, the industry union has maintained four rounds of reviewing union members in difficulty each year on the occasions of Tet, Workers' Month, Vietnam Trade Union Foundation Day (July 28) and Vietnam Teachers' Day. Thereby, timely care and sharing with cadres, teachers and employees in difficult circumstances.

Many welfare programs for union members have also been implemented by the industry union. The industry union has selected and signed cooperation agreements with a number of enterprises to implement useful and necessary services for workers. Thereby, cadres and employees in the industry have enjoyed preferential treatment when going for medical examinations, shopping for clothes, using telecommunications and transportation services. 48 out of 60 grassroots unions have coordinated to organize periodic health examinations and consultations for cadres, teachers and workers.

Not only supporting teachers in difficult circumstances, the industry union always cares about building a grassroots cultural life, improving the spirit of union members. In the past term, the industry union organized 4 sports tournaments, creating a useful, healthy, united playground, attracting a large number of cadres, teachers and workers to participate. The whole industry selected 2 outstanding teachers to participate in the 5th National Teachers' Singing Festival in 2021 and won high prizes. Teacher Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Vice President of the Trade Union of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, said that along with the attention of the industry union, the school union always focuses on taking care of the lives of cadres and teachers. Social welfare regimes and benefits are implemented correctly, promptly and regularly.

Ready for a new term

In the 2018-2023 term, with its efforts, the Hai Duong Education Trade Union has achieved many outstanding achievements, receiving the excellent emulation flag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for 3 consecutive years from 2019-2022; the Vietnam Education Trade Union awarded many specialized certificates of merit, and the Provincial Labor Federation awarded many certificates of merit.

According to Mr. Vu Ba Ha, Chairman of the Hai Duong Education Trade Union, in order for activities to attract a large number of union members, it is necessary to first closely follow the characteristics of the industry. The staff, teachers, and workers in the industry have a high level of training, so when organizing activities, we must take advantage of this advantage, such as applying information technology and digital transformation. Activities are mainly directed at the grassroots level, taking care of both material and spiritual aspects to help staff, teachers, and workers promote their capacity and effectively contribute to the cause of educating people.

June 14,Hai Duong Education Trade Union held its 20th Congress for the 2023-2028 term. This is the unit selected by the Provincial Labor Federation to organize a model congress for the sectoral trade union bloc and industrial park trade unions.

To prepare carefully for the congress, as soon as the Provincial Federation of Labor had instructions and directions, the Hai Duong Education Trade Union organized a wide consultation on the targets for the next 5 years. Accordingly, the target is that each cadre, teacher, and worker will have a periodic health check-up at least twice in 5 years. Personnel work is ensured to follow the correct procedures, the proportion of women participating in the Executive Committee accounts for more than 50%, ensuring qualifications and standards. The directions and tasks of the new term are proposed with innovations, suitable for the team of union members and teachers.
