The Department of Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control (Ministry of Public Security) and Thai Binh Provincial Police worked with the driver who posted a photo of his 12-year-old son driving a car on the road.
On the afternoon of January 27, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that the Department of Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control Guidance (Department 6) and Thai Binh Provincial Police had worked with the driver who posted a photo of his 12-year-old son driving a car on the road.
Previously, on the evening of January 25, a video of more than 2 minutes long appeared on social media, livestreamed by the father himself on his personal page, showing off that his son drove home by himself.
"Today, dad drank alcohol and the youngest son drove dad home", "I am dad's son so I have to drive dad home every time dad is drunk", "I'm reporting to you guys that I'm only 12 years old and in 6th grade", the father continuously said in the video.
Immediately after receiving the feedback, the Department of Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control (Traffic Police Department) sent officers and soldiers to verify.
Through verification, the police identified the man in the clip as Mr. LNL (born in 1981, residing in Vu Thu, Thai Binh).
At the police station, Mr. LNL said the incident happened at Cau Coi (Vu Hoi commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province).
"At around 6 p.m., I was driving my car with my son near Cau Coi area when the car broke down. While the tow truck was towing the vehicle, I let my son sit in the driver's seat and told him I would take a video of him driving the car for fun," said Mr. LNL.
According to Mr. L., he filmed and posted the video on social media just for "fun". Mr. L. also realized that his act of posting false information was wrong and caused public confusion.
"I hope people will sympathize with me and not imitate my wrongdoings," Mr. L. said.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department said that the driver who filmed the above video showed signs of violating the provision and sharing of fabricated information, causing panic among the people, and the fine is from 10 to 20 million VND.
For rescue vehicles (based on inspection), continue to verify and clarify signs of violation of point p, clause 5, article 6 of Decree 168 on the act of carrying people in the vehicle's trunk against regulations, the fine is from 4-6 million VND or according to point i, clause 3, article 6 of Decree 168 on the violation of carrying people in the towed vehicle (except the driver), the fine is 800,000-1,000,000 VND.
Department 6 has handed over the case to the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention of Thai Binh Provincial Police to continue investigating and handling the case.
