Using foam boxes and plastic bottles to grow plants is a popular method among "rooftop farmers", but many people are concerned that vegetables and fruits are contaminated and harmful to health.

Styrofoam boxes or plastic bottles are made from Polystyrene with 95% air content. Thermoplastics containing low molecular weight Polystyrene are considered safe materials.

These materials only change when the temperature is between 180-200 degrees Celsius, which means they are harmful to health when burned. Meanwhile, the temperature on the balcony or terrace is not over 50-60 degrees Celsius.

Therefore, if you grow vegetables and tubers in it, eating them will not harm your health at all and will save you money.
