Teacher in Dak Lak used electric wire to beat student

On February 27, Ms. Luong Thi Bich Nguyen, Principal of Ly Tu Trong Primary School, said the incident happened in class 5D of the school.

3 days ago, the school received complaints from many parents, saying that the homeroom teacher used an electric baton to beat their children, pulled them back by the hair, stuffed a towel in their mouths, forced them to hold scraps of paper in their mouths from the beginning to the end of class, and forced them to crawl through a hole to go to the toilet...

Initially, the female teacher admitted to using an electric wire (with the copper core removed) instead of a ruler to beat the student, causing bruises on his legs. The school has not yet revealed the cause. Regarding the remaining complaints, the school has denied them.

Specifically, the teacher only "threatened to stuff a blackboard eraser in the student's mouth" if the student talked in class, but did not do so. Regarding going to the bathroom, Ms. Nguyen said that class 5D had its own bathroom but it was clogged. Mr. Nguyen Huu Luat, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Buon Ma Thuot City, said that this agency is clarifying the responsibilities of individuals in the incident.

Primary school teachers are civil servants under the management of the district-level People's Committee. If they violate regulations, depending on the severity, they will receive one of three forms of disciplinary action, including reprimand, warning, and dismissal.
