As the host team and with good form from the group stage, the German team took the initiative in the match against Denmark. In the 4th minute, center back Schlotterbeck put the ball into the Danish net but the goal was not recognized. VAR determined that there was a foul by a German player in the penalty area.
In the following minutes, Germany continued to create a series of dangerous attacks but could not defeat experienced goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. It was not until 20 minutes later that Denmark gradually regained control of the game. They had 2 dangerous opportunities in a row but both Eriksen and Maehle could not take advantage of them.

With the lead, Germany played comfortably and completely controlled the game. In the 68th minute, they had their second goal. Musiala received a pass from a teammate below before breaking away to face Schmeichel. The number 10 made no mistake to make it 2-0.
In the remaining time, Denmark could not score a goal against Neuer due to the weakness of their strikers. The match ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of the German team. The home team convincingly won the ticket to the quarterfinals.
