Three English clubs are through to the Champions League round of 16, while Man City have to play a play-off against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.
The eight teams that finished top of their group and advanced straight to the Champions League Round of 16 are Liverpool, Barca, Arsenal, Inter, Atletico Madrid, Leverkusen, Lille and Arsenal. They all have 16 points or more, at least one point more than the group behind them.
These teams are all in the top 5 European national championships, of which the Premier League has three representatives, La Liga two, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 each have one team.
The 16 teams ranked from 9th to 24th have to play an additional two-legged play-off round to compete for a place in the round of 16. These include Atalanta, Dortmund, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Milan, PSV Eindhoven, PSG, Benfica, Monaco, Brest, Feyenoord, Juventus, Celtic, Man City, Sporting and Club Brugge.
