In 2025, the Ministry of Health will reorganize two hospitals under the ministry, converting them into practice hospitals of Hanoi Medical University. Another hospital will be converted into the third facility of Hue Central General Hospital.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has just signed Decision No. 1704/2024 approving the plan to arrange and reorganize hospitals under the Ministry of Health until 2025, period 2026-2030.

Hospitals not in the above group will be transferred to local management or merged into public service units under the Ministry.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health reorganized 3 hospitals including: Central Hospital 71 and Central Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital to become practice hospitals of Hanoi Medical University. Quang Nam Central General Hospital to become the 3rd facility of Hue Central General Hospital.
In the 2026-2030 period, the Ministry of Health has a specific plan to implement the arrangement and reorganization of hospitals under the Ministry of Health in the 2026-2030 period, to be submitted to the Prime Minister in the second quarter.
In the Decision, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long assigned the Ministry of Health to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, branches, localities and units to guide the development of a project to arrange and reorganize units carrying out the transfer, arrangement and reorganization in 2025, submit it to the Prime Minister for approval, and ensure the completion of the transfer, arrangement and reorganization before December 31.
