In addition to direct admission and admission of candidates with international language certificates, in 2022, police academies and schools will consider admission by combining the results of the high school graduation exam of the Ministry of Education and Training with the capacity assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security.

Specifically, the Ministry of Public Security plans to organize a competency assessment test right after the high school graduation exam of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). This test will have a 2-part structure including multiple choice and essay.

The multiple-choice test to assess the capacity for admission to police schools includes: Knowledge of natural sciences, social knowledge, foreign languages ​​suitable for the combination of registration for admission to police academies and schools; focuses on testing knowledge in the current high school program, with a higher level of difficulty than the high school graduation exam of the Ministry of Education and Training to increase the ability to classify candidates; the logical thinking section focuses on testing the skills of memorization, judgment, reasoning, evaluation, and comments of candidates suitable for the field of police work.

In the essay section, candidates will be able to choose one of two topics: Literature, social commentary or math.

The total time for the competency assessment test for admission to police schools is 180 minutes, of which the multiple choice part takes 90 minutes and the essay part takes 90 minutes. The sample test will be publicly announced by the Ministry of Public Security for candidates and society to know in the near future.

How to calculate admission scores for police schools in 2022:With this method, the results of the high school graduation exam of the Ministry of Education and Training will account for 40% of the total admission score; the results of the competency assessment test account for 60% of the total admission score. The above scores are converted to the appropriate scale according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, plus regional and subject priority points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security.

In case the capacity assessment test cannot be organized due to the epidemic, the admission score will be implemented as in 2021, in which the high school transcript results account for 25% of the total admission score; the high school graduation exam results of the Ministry of Education and Training account for 75% of the total admission score.

In case due to the epidemic, the Ministry of Education and Training's high school graduation exam is not held, and the Ministry of Public Security's competency assessment test is not held, schools will use high school transcripts as admission scores similar to the admission of candidates who are granted special graduation due to the impact of the epidemic in 2021.

Candidates must pass a physical test.

Regarding the preliminary selection for police schools in 2022, the Department of Training, Ministry of Public Security said that candidates will be tested according to the standards prescribed for admission to the People's Public Security Force. The preliminary selection unit will check personal information, academic qualifications, conduct in the transcript, moral qualities, work history, health check, examine, verify, and conclude political standards.

In addition, candidates must be tested for their athletic ability by choosing 2 of the following physical training events: 100m run, 1500m run (for men), 800m run (for women), long jump in place, and chin-up bar. This test is only considered a pass or fail.

At the time of the test, if the candidate is sick or cannot be tested, the police at the preliminary selection site will allow the candidate to be tested at another time before submitting the application to the People's Police Academy or University.
