Tri Viet Energy Company branch was heavily fined for storing ash and slag in violation of regulations.

On June 10, 2024, Tri Viet Energy Company Limited Branch signed a contract for Mr. Le Van Thuy in Thuong Bi 2 village (Yet Kieu commune) to do the business of transporting ash and slag from the boiler of Dai An industrial park to store at the land rented by Mr. Pham Van Thanh in Kenh Trieu village (Thong Kenh commune, Gia Loc district). The volume of ash and slag of the company at the land rented by Mr. Thanh as of December 13, 2024 was nearly 404 tons. The ash and slag were stored in an outdoor lot, without a roof, without a system to collect and treat overflowing rainwater. For not having an area or warehouse to store ordinary industrial solid waste, the company was fined 55 million VND.

Around the beginning of October 2024, Mr. Pham Van Tinh (Toan Thang Commune) contacted the Viet Tri Energy Company Limited Branch and was approved to transport ash and slag. Mr. Tinh hired two trips, the first trip had a volume of over 6 tons and dumped it in his yard. On the second trip, when the truck was carrying nearly 17 tons, the Gia Loc District Police discovered and detained the vehicle. For the act of giving ordinary industrial solid waste to a unit without the function and capacity to handle it according to regulations, the branch was fined 75 million VND.

In addition to being fined, this unit must be responsible for handling the entire volume of ash and slag.
