Vu Thanh Hai is currently a student of Military Automobile Class 1, Company 455, Battalion 4, Military Technical Academy. He said this is the third consecutive time he has participated in the National Mechanics Olympiad. All three times he participated, the young man from Ninh Giang province has won first prize. This time, Hai made an impression by achieving a perfect score. He is also the only person to receive the Nguyen Van Dao Young Mechanics Talent Award presented by the Vietnam Mechanics Association.

It is known that Hai is the eldest child in a farming family. Having gone through many difficulties, Hai is diligent and strives to study tirelessly. During 12 years of study, he has always been an excellent student. Since entering his second year of university at the Military Technical Academy, Hai has shown excellent ability in mechanics subjects, so he was encouraged by teachers in the Department of Solid Mechanics to join the Materials Strength Olympic team.

Sharing about the review process for the exams, Hai said that material strength is an important basic subject and one of the subjects of the National Mechanics Olympiad. "During the review process for the recent exam, my teammates and I received very good conditions from the academy and teachers. Because I am a final year student and have to participate in internships and final practice sessions, I could not attend any review sessions with the teachers. I proactively reviewed online and searched for exam questions to gain more experience. Right after achieving results in the National Mechanics Olympiad, I called my family to inform them, and my whole family was very happy," Hai added.

From her hometown, hearing the news that her son achieved the maximum score in the national exam, Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet (Hai's mother) in Hong Phong commune (Ninh Giang) was excited: "My family is a farmer so we don't have many conditions to tutor Hai. He has been independent and studious since he was young. Feelings of happiness and pride were the first emotions when receiving the notice of receiving the Nguyen Van Dao Young Mechanical Talent Award."

Major Phung Van Minh, lecturer of the Faculty of Mechanics, Military Technical Academy, commented that Hai is a good student but very modest, progressive, and willing to share with teachers. He is emotional, enthusiastic in helping friends, and is loved by his friends. The achievements that Hai has achieved are a confirmation of his own talent, and at the same time, affirms the quality of training and teaching at the Military Technical Academy.

Currently, Hai is focusing on completing his internship at Division 308, Corps 12. After graduation, the male student will work at a technical unit as assigned. The road ahead is still full of obstacles, but Hai will try to achieve his dream of becoming a good soldier, making efforts to contribute to building and protecting his homeland and country.

The National Mechanics Olympiad is held annually for university students by the Vietnam Mechanics Association in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Student Association, and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
