On March 16, before the Arda Kardzhali-Levski Sofia match in the Bulgarian Championship, players from both teams stood around the center circle, along with spectators, observing a minute of silence for Petko Ganchev, a former player for Arda. But at halftime, the home team's management realized they had received incorrect information about Ganchev's condition. They then sent a correction to the TV station broadcasting the match.

Arda also posted an apology and wished Petko Ganchev many years of good health via the team's Facebook account.

This announcement seemed to be deleted by Arda on the evening of March 17, but the incident still spread rapidly on social networks, turning Arda into a topic of gossip.

Ganchev played for Arda from 2020 to 2022, playing 21 matches and scoring one goal. The centre-back currently plays in the Bulgarian second division for Dobrudzha Dobrich Club.

Arda are currently ranked 5th in the Bulgarian Championship with 41 points, 1 point behind the fourth-placed team.
