Fake pages of 108 Military Central Hospital

On August 11, the 108 Military Central Hospital informed that recently, subjects continued to set up pages impersonating the 108 Military Central Hospital to scam and profit. Therefore, people need to be vigilant to avoid being "trapped" by scammers through a series of fanpages (Facebook) impersonating the 108 Military Central Hospital to approach people to offer poor quality medicine and medical services that harm people's health and negatively affect the reputation of the Hospital.

These scams include creating ambiguous and misleading fake page names such as “Hospital 108”, “Military Hospital 108”, “Military Hospital 108”… to copying and illegally posting posts, logos, and slogans on the official fanpage of the 108 Central Military Hospital. The scammers even cut and paste images and videos about the Hospital on mass media channels and dub product advertisements to attract followers.

Fraudsters offer promising offers with great deals: “Cure diabetes completely without recurrence with just one course of treatment”, “hair graying treatment, melasma treatment, beauty products tested by Institute 108”, “doctor with more than 15 years of experience in the cosmetic industry directly performs the treatment”…

According to the 108 Military Central Hospital, not only impersonating the Hospital and its departments, the fake pages also impersonate the Hospital's doctors to increase their credibility with the people. The fake content includes: Claiming to invite doctors from the 108 Military Central Hospital to their facility to examine patients; or directly contacting and introducing themselves as doctors and nurses from the department where the patient has just been discharged to offer home patient care services such as: physical therapy care, dressing changes, maternity care, postpartum care for mothers and babies, testing, injections, infusions...

There are many cases of impersonating hospital doctors to propagate false medical treatment views: Some illnesses only need to apply "natural healing therapies" in a certain book, no need for modern medical methods.

In addition to setting up fake social media platforms (on Facebook, Tiktok, Zalo, etc.), many subjects also solicit and invite patients and their relatives to go to the clinic of the 108 Central Military Hospital.

In particular, there was a group of people who pretended to be from the 108 Military Central Hospital to go to medical examinations, provide health consultations, advertise pharmaceuticals, and organize tours combined with medical examinations and treatment in areas in Hai Duong, Hai Phong, and Lao Cai.

In order to prevent impersonation and fraud, 108 Military Central Hospital has regularly reviewed and reported to the authorities to strictly handle the subjects. However, to prevent bad subjects from taking advantage, people need to be more vigilant and select accurate information.

The hospital only sells medicine with a doctor's prescription at pharmacies within the hospital. The 108 Central Military Hospital has not yet implemented home examination and treatment.
