Red warning for air quality in Hai Duong city

According to the Northern Environmental Monitoring Center (Department of Environmental Pollution Control, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), the results of measuring the environmental pollution index in Hai Duong City at 9:00 a.m. on January 2 were at 200 (red, bad warning). The fine dust index PM2.5 and PM1.0 were also at very high levels, poor air quality, at 200 and 124 µg/m³, respectively.

According to the AirVisual air quality application, the air pollution index at the same time was at 225 (purple warning, very unhealthy); the PM2.5 fine dust index was 149.9 µg/m³. It is forecasted that the air quality of Hai Duong City will also be very poor all day on January 2, maintaining the purple warning level (201-300) until about 3 p.m. From 4 p.m. to night, the warning will change to red (151-200).

Warning from Friday to this weekend, air quality will remain at a poor level, affecting sensitive groups, even normal people will be affected.

Hai Duong is also among the group of provinces and cities in the Northern region with poor air quality in recent days.

The Ministry of Health recommends that when the air quality index is at the purple threshold (AQI index at 201 - 300), people should avoid outdoor activities for long periods of time or participate in strenuous physical activities. Encourage indoor activities, if going out, use masks that can prevent fine dust. Limit opening windows and doors during times of heavy air pollution.

Clean your nose and gargle with saline morning and night, especially after going out. Rinse your eyes with saline in the evening before going to bed.

The period from October to March of the following year is usually the air pollution season in the North.
