Many items of Hao Xa Pagoda in Thanh Tan Commune (Thanh Ha, Hai Duong) are seriously degraded and need to be restored and embellished soon.
Hao Xa Pagoda in Thanh Tan Commune (Thanh Ha) was ranked as a national monument in 1993. In 2015, Hao Xa Pagoda Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Although it has been renovated many times, the model house, meditation house, and guest house have all seriously degraded; some parts of the surrounding wall no longer exist; there is no stele house to preserve the ancient stele system.
Officials, party members and people of Thanh Tan commune (Thanh Ha) hope to restore and renovate Hao Xa pagoda from socialized funding sources.
Hao Xa Pagoda was built during the Ly Dynasty and continued to be built during the Tran Dynasty. The pagoda is a place to worship Buddha, Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong, the first patriarch of the Truc Lam Zen sect in Vietnam, and three laymen who are honored as tutelary gods: Nguyen Danh Nguyen, Nguyen Danh Quang, and Ly Dinh Khue.
Hao Xa Pagoda Festival takes place the earliest in the year (the 6th day of Tet every year) so it attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world to come and see.
