Promote potential and strengths

On August 31, 2023, the Prime Minister decided to approve the investment policy and construction of Luong Dien - Ngoc Lien Industrial Park, with a total area of nearly 150 hectares and a total investment of nearly VND 1,765 billion. This October, the investor, Luong Dien - Ngoc Lien Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, is working with the authorities of related communes and Cam Giang district to determine the project location on the ground to prepare for site clearance.

According to the approved district planning, Luong Dien will become an industrial and service center, and in the future will become a type V urban area. In the commune, the 32-hectare Luong Dien I industrial cluster has been filled; the Luong Dien industrial-service-commercial cluster has cleared more than 30/43 hectares; the planning of the two industrial clusters Luong Dien II and III has been determined.

The traditional carpentry village has expanded in both Dong Giao and Ben Dong Giao villages. With the strong development of industry and handicrafts, the agricultural land area of Luong Dien is currently about 400 hectares, and by 2025 it will be reduced by half. "To ensure the maximum use of the new planning, the commune focuses on investing in upgrading technical infrastructure, especially internal traffic which is still very narrow, winding, and polluted. Agricultural land has decreased sharply, so the locality will shift production mainly to vegetables. The 120-hectare Luong Xa-Boi Tuong area will focus on developing clean agriculture," said Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Dien commune.

Separated from Luong Dien by the Trang Ky River, Tan Truong Commune is also focusing its efforts to complete the clearance of 112 hectares of land for the expanded Tan Truong Industrial Park - the second industrial park in the area. The commune is also focusing its efforts to complete the remaining 2 criteria for advanced new rural areas in October 2023... "The technical infrastructure of the new rural areas will be the basis for the commune to upgrade to a type V urban area in 2025 and develop essential services to meet the sudden increase in population due to tens of thousands of workers coming from far away to work in industrial parks", Mr. Vu Van Thuan, Chairman of Tan Truong Commune People's Committee shared.

Cupdatein new direction

On January 25, 2022, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province issued Decision No. 315/QD-UBND approving the Adjustment of the Construction Planning of Cam Giang district to 2030, with a vision to 2050. Including the addition of a tourism - cultural - spiritual area combined with traditional craft villages. Striving to build Cam Giang district to meet the criteria of a type IV urban area after 2030 in the direction of a green - smart - modern urban area.

According to the Economic Infrastructure Department of Cam Giang district, in terms of spatial organization orientation, Cam Giang district will develop with 4 main areas: administrative center, culture, commercial services, public works system; urban service development; industrial development and concentrated agricultural development area, high-quality agriculture. The district focuses on building and developing multi-industry, high-tech, supporting industry, clean industry; combining with Binh Giang and Thanh Mien districts to form a dynamic industrial zone in the west of Hai Duong province.

According to this plan, by 2030, Cam Giang's agricultural land area is forecast to be over 4,562 hectares, a decrease of more than 1,712 hectares compared to present; by 2050, it will decrease by another 1,133 hectares, to about 3,429 hectares.

Dai An Industrial Park expansion is focusing on investment in building technical infrastructure.

However, according to the overall plan for the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023 - 2025 of the district People's Committee, from now until 2025, Thach Loi commune will merge with Cam Giang town, Cam Dien will merge with Cam Phuc. In the period of 2026-2030, Cao An and Cam Doai communes will merge with Lai Cach town; Cam Van will merge with Cam Vu and Cam Hung will merge with Ngoc Lien. Therefore, the urban development plans of Lai Cach and Cam Giang need to be adjusted to a larger scale. Although the areas of Tan Truong, Dinh Son and Cam Dong communes are not cut into Lai Cach town as in the old plan, the future Lai Cach urban area will still have an area of over 1,770 hectares with a population of about 25,000 people. The future Cam Giang town will have an area of 1,054 hectares, with a population of about 12,500 people. The development orientation is based on the central urban model with the two towns of Lai Cach and Cam Giang as the core of spatial development, spreading along the main traffic axes to the south, northeast and northwest to form an urban system. It is expected that by 2030, the urbanization rate of Cam Giang will be about 65%; by 2050, about 74.8%...

During the implementation process, the district always pays attention to the implementation roadmap, identifies areas of focus for development based on available potential…”, Mr. Tran Van Quyet, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cam Giang district affirmed.
