Hai Duong table tennis team has no gold medal in national tournament for the second consecutive year

At the end of the tournament, Hai Duong team only won 2 silver medals from Nguyen Duc Tuan (men's singles); Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh (men's doubles). In addition, the team won 4 bronze medals in men's team, mixed doubles and men's singles.

This was a disappointing result for the team, because before the tournament the team was assigned the target of winning 1-2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. In addition to the main players Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh, Bui Ngoc Lan not achieving high performance, the young players of the next generation, Dinh Quang Minh and Nguyen Duy Phong, also did not compete successfully. Among the young athletes, Nguyen Duy Phong was the most anticipated as he had just helped Vietnam win the Southeast Asian youth table tennis championship for the first time, thereby officially winning a ticket to the Asian youth championship.

This result of Hai Duong table tennis team is similar to last season, when the team also did not win any gold medals. This is the second consecutive tournament that Hai Duong table tennis has not won a gold medal at the Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship - the highest tournament of Vietnamese table tennis.

This year's Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship was held at Khanh Hoa Province's Sports Gymnasium from June 2-7, attracting nearly 200 players from 18 delegations from provinces, cities, industries and businesses nationwide.
