Director Alejandro González Iñárritu returns with the epic narrative film "Bardo". The film runs nearly 3 hours long but is worth it for those who are patient enough to enjoy it.
According to Variety, the movie Bardo ended late at 0:15 on September 2, however, the audience did not leave the theater immediately but stood and gave a 4-minute long applause for director Alejandro González Iñárritu and the film's production team. Before the audience's applause, the director of Birdman hugged the actors in the crew and shed tears.

Bardo is considered a contemplative film about life, human life, but has an epic color with extremely beautiful frames of nature and culture of Mexico. The audience will follow a journalist and a documentary filmmaker on their journey back to their homeland with the stories they have experienced, the problems they have to face to find their identity. The two main roles are played by Daniel Giménez Cacho and Griselda Siciliani.
The film opens with a flashback in which Silverio’s wife, Lucía (Griselda Siciliani), gives birth to a CGI baby named Mateo. As soon as he is born, Mateo exclaims, “The world has gone mad,” and asks to be returned to his mother’s womb. The dramatic opening sequence is the 59-year-old director’s excuse to tell a story that makes no distinction between fantasy and reality, love and reason, failure and success, ego and humility.
According to Variety, with a duration of 174 minutes, many viewers will hesitate, not wanting to put themselves in the contemplative space that Alejandro G. Iñárritu has created. However, the film is considered profound, multi-layered and can help the talented director win the third Oscar in his career after Birdman (2014) and The Revenant (2015).
Bardo is 3 hours long but treats the audience to many beautiful frames with profound content.
