The Politburo assigned Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen to run the Hanoi Party Committee.

On the morning of June 25, at the headquarters of the Hanoi Party Committee, the 17th Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee held its 18th Conference.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong announced the Politburo's decision to allow Mr. Dinh Tien Dung to resign from the positions of Secretary of the City Party Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, member of the City Party Executive Committee, Head of the Hanoi City National Assembly Delegation and related positions to retire according to his personal wishes.

According to Mr. Phong, the Politburo also assigned Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, to run the Hanoi Party Committee until the position of Secretary of the City Party Committee is completed.

On June 19, the Politburo agreed to let Mr. Dinh Tien Dung resign from his position as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi. According to the Politburo, in his position as Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Finance for the 2016-2021 term, Mr. Dung made many efforts in directing and operating the work of the financial sector, achieving important results.

However, he bears political responsibility as a leader for allowing many violations to occur at the Ministry of Finance; lack of responsibility in leadership and direction, allowing the Party Executive Committee, the Ministry of Finance and a number of organizations and individuals to commit many violations and shortcomings, causing serious consequences, bad public opinion, and reducing the reputation of the Party organization and state management agency.

At the meeting on the afternoon of June 21, the Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Dinh Tien Dung resign from the position of Politburo member and member of the 13th Party Central Committee according to his personal wishes.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, 53 years old, is from Dong Lac commune, Chuong My district, Hanoi. She has a PhD in Party building and a bachelor's degree in Economic Law. Starting her career as a Youth Union official of Chuong My district, Ms. Tuyen has worked in this locality for many years in various positions such as Secretary of the District Youth Union, Head of the District Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, and Secretary of the District Party Committee. Before being elected as Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, she also held positions such as Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department.

The Hanoi Party Committee currently has four Deputy Secretaries, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (53 years old), Mr. Nguyen Van Phong (56 years old), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (58 years old) and Mr. Tran Sy Thanh (53 years old).

According to the Program approved at the conference, the City Party Executive Committee will implement Directive No. 35 dated June 14, 2024 of the Politburo on Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; implement the plan to organize Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 18th Congress of the City Party.

The City Party Executive Committee will also discuss the submission and report on adjusting the city-level public investment plan for 2024 and the orientation of the public investment plan for 2025; update and adjust the 5-year medium-term public investment plan for 2021-2025 at the city level. The conference will also review a number of reports and review responsibilities, and consider disciplinary measures for party members according to authority.
