Police in Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong city have arrested the suspect who attacked and beat the homeowner and committed a daring robbery in the early morning of July 26 in Nhan Le village, Vinh Long commune, Vinh Bao district.
On the morning of July 28, Vinh Bao District Police, Hai Phong City, announced that the unit had temporarily detained Tong Quoc Hung (born in 2005, registered permanent residence in Thang Thuy Commune, Vinh Bao District; currently residing temporarily in Nhan Le, Vinh Long Commune, Vinh Bao District, Hai Phong City).
Tong Quoc Hung and the robbery evidence
Previously, at around 1:45 a.m. on July 26, Ms. Nguyen Thi G. (born in 1972 in Nhan Le village, Vinh Long commune, Vinh Bao district) was sleeping when a young man broke into her house. The subject restrained Ms. G., strangled her and hit her head many times with a hard object. Then, he took an electric motorbike and 8 million VND in the trunk.
Upon receiving the report, Vinh Bao District Police coordinated with functional units of Hai Phong City Police and Vinh Bao District People's Procuracy to conduct a crime scene investigation and carry out initial investigation activities. Using professional measures, Vinh Bao District Police identified the suspect as Tong Quoc Hung.
Immediately afterwards, Vinh Bao District Police summoned the subject to the headquarters for questioning.
At the police station, Tong Quoc Hung confessed to breaking in, restraining and robbing Ms. G. Hung handed over the electric motorbike and 1,292,000 VND, and spent the remaining money on personal expenses.
Vinh Bao District Police and Hai Phong City Police have detained Tong Quoc Hung and will continue to investigate and handle him according to regulations.
